LEADERSHIP-EVANGELIST KATJA PETERATZINGER

Actually, I originally did not want to use any of the classic buzzwords on this website. The term “Leadership Evangelist” certainly moves in that direction. However, since I have heard this description directed at me quite often lately, I started reflecting on what it actually means — and realized that it truly does describe me rather well.

A “Leadership Evangelist” is generally understood to be someone who not only provides professional leadership, but who actively creates enthusiasm for an idea, vision, technology, or movement and tries to inspire others to join and support it.

The term is especially relevant in the following contexts:

  • Business & Innovation

Someone who communicates new ways of thinking, technologies, or strategies both internally and externally.

Example: An innovation evangelist within a company explains opportunities, inspires teams, and builds communities.

  • Community & Network Building

Connecting people, gaining multipliers and supporters, creating visibility, and emotionally strengthening a shared mission.

  • Thought Leadership

Representing and promoting an idea through public speaking, storytelling, social media, workshops, or media work.

For me, this role combines:

  • Communication
  • Vision
  • Strategic marketing
  • Community building
  • Inspiration
  • Change management
  • Storytelling

Depending on the context, similar German terms could also be translated as:

  • Catalyst
  • Brand ambassador
  • Visionary leader
  • Community builder
  • Thought leader
  • Innovation ambassador

Especially in the context of my creative consulting approaches, strategic initiatives, sustainable projects, cooperative movements, and AI-driven concepts, this term resonates strongly with me — because my goal is usually not just to advise or organize, but to emotionally engage people and mobilize them around a shared vision and purpose.

Of course, this does not always succeed equally well. But in this regard, I follow the words of T. S. Eliot:

“For us, there is only the trying. The rest is not our business.”

How a Dutch Inventor Turned Nothing but Hot Air into a Billion-Dollar Idea

30.06.2026

Not long ago, telling someone they were “full of hot air” was an insult. Then a Dutch engineer came along and turned nothing but hot air into a billion-dollar idea.

His invention—the Airfryer, or hot air fryer—has become one of the most successful kitchen appliances of our time. The man behind it was Fred van der Weij. Yet although millions of people use his invention every day, very few know the name of this remarkable European innovator.
